ANOHNI: Mourning the Great Barrier Reef

Mourning the Great Barrier Reef | ANOHNI
Line Producer, Additional Camera

After ten years, musician and artist Anohni returned to Australia to perform for two nights in the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE 2025. Anohni's concert, titled Mourning the Great Barrier Reef, was ambitious in concept, an immersive, large-scale visual installation that paired Anohni's powerfully distinctive voice with her live band, the Johnsons, playing on stage in front of reef scapes projected across the full width of the Opera House's Concert Hall.

I worked with Anohni through Grumpy Turtle Filmes to produce the visuals for this concert, organising a ten-day shoot on Lizard Island in the Great Barrier Reef and two days of studio interview shoots with reef scientists. After the Opera House performances, Anohni continued to tour Mourning the Reef around Europe and was recently a headline act at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK.
